Highway Litter Group Meets During Year
Pickup dates fpr litter along highway #17 are scheduled for January 18, 2003, April 19, 2003, July 19, 2003 and October 18, 2003. All Saturdays at 8:30 AM meeting at Town Hall for assignments.
We get help from the Department of Corrections with additional pickups, especially in the median area where we cannot pick up.
We need to recruit additional volunteers in order to do a more thorough pickup in the areas north toward New Bern, and to do any kind of a pickup south toward Jacksonville. Please appeal to your friends and neighbors so that this activity can continue with the support of all the community and not just a few. Our "charter group" has been with us for many years and their efforts have made it possible for us to keep the program going and enhance the visual quality of our surroundings.
