This is a very popular houseplant... it has crinkled leaves and red or pink stems... the plant will produce creamy flower spikes throughout the year... they come in a wide range of colors and textures.
Moisture - allow to dry slightly between waterings... root rot will become a problem fast if this plant is overwatered... keep the humidity up
Light - low to medium light... the variegated forms will look best if given a few hours a day of bright filtered light
Temperature - average to warm temps
Fertilize - 3 times in the summer with a 10-10-10 solution
Pests - mealybugs
Repotting - once this plant is in a 5 inch pot it will not need to be repotted... use a well drained potting mix...
Propagation - tip cuttings or leaf cuttings
Tips - prune by pinching out leaves to keep the plant looking attractive... if it begins to grow into a central stem then you should take cuttings to start a new plant
