Native to Polynesia... this plant has long , thin leaflets which are notched... the stalks of the leaves and young stems are speckled with white ... which makes it a nice houseplant with it's uncommon appearance.
Moisture - keep the soil evenly moist... allowing the plant to dry out the slightest bit will cause leaf drop... use a pebble tray to keep the humidity up...
Light - medium to bright filtered light is best
Temperature - average to warm temps
Fertilize - 3 times during the summer with a 10-10-10 fertilizer
Pests - mealybugs, scales, spider mites... lower leaves may drop when the plants are in a draft
Repotting - repot only occasionally and use a well-drained, moisture retentive soil
Propagation - air layering or stem cuttings
Tips - prune the plant back substantially to maintain the look of the young leaves... as this plant matures the leaf shape can change....
